NIH-Funded Study Finds Small, Temporary Menstrual Changes After COVID Vaccination
A peer-reviewed study published in Obstetrics & Gynecology (Jan 2022) analyzed nearly 4,000 women aged 18–45 to understand how COVID-19 vaccines affect the menstrual cycle.
Funded by the NIH, the study used data from the Natural Cycles app, a fertility tracking tool. It compared 2,403 vaccinated participants with 1,556 unvaccinated controls.
Key Results:
After vaccination, cycle length increased slightly:
+0.71 days after the 1st dose
+0.91 days after the 2nd dose
No change in bleeding duration (menses length)
Women who received both doses in one cycle had a larger delay (~2.38 days)
Cycle timing returned to normal within 1–2 cycles
How Spike Detox™ Supports Recovery From Immune-Linked Stressors
